« Investing locally, the luck and duty of entrepreneurs »

In a column given to the JDD, Joan Beaufort, President and founder of La Royale Investments Group, revealed his vision for French entrepreneurs who have succeeded abroad, of the importance of making their contribution to the influence of France in supporting the economy of our regions.
« In recent weeks, the holding of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in France has reminded us of the importance of soft power both internationally but also within our own country. If we are often pleased, and rightly so, that France is the leading European destination for foreign investment projects, the place of French entrepreneurs abroad is also crucial for promoting our know-how in the world. . .

There are more than 130,000 entrepreneurs who perfect their skills internationally, develop an activity outside the country and understand the major changes underway there. For several years, France has worked to strengthen the country’s attractiveness to international investors, with the Choose France Summit as its emblem. However, it is just as essential to make the capital and activities of French people abroad a force for the nation. It is by confronting other needs and ways of considering progress and creating value that it is possible to build more resilient and inventive models. The gaming and fintech sectors are an example. A few years ago, these fields were only just beginning in France, while they were experiencing exponential growth internationally, particularly in Asia and Europe. Today, the list of French players at the forefront in these two fields continues to grow, and this is largely due to the experience acquired abroad.

Also, these successes which make France shine beyond our borders are our pride and, having grown up in Alsace, I consider for my part that investing in France is an opportunity but also a duty for those who succeed outside our borders. We, French entrepreneurs abroad, must help promote the attractiveness of our territories, a major issue for all French communities.

For many of these 130,000 expatriate business leaders, nothing would have been possible without Republican equal opportunities. Preserving this luck is essential so that tomorrow, these small towns and villages in France – which we sometimes call “peripheral France” and from which many of us come – continue to see the birth of the entrepreneurs and the french prides of tomorrow. This France is the beating heart of the nation, the one that must be supported and claimed, the one whose attractiveness is wrongly fading.

Investing abroad is possible if you wish. Invest in France too, and more, invest locally, dare to get closer to local know-how, revitalize sometimes neglected neighborhoods so that our intellectual and cultural diversity continues. Beyond public policies and individual convictions, everyone has a role to play at their own level.

French entrepreneurs of the world, we who know the value of plurality and challenge, let us be proud of our journeys but also of these territories which have given us so much. And the best way to demonstrate this is still to invest locally to support the economy of these regions which forged us. »
